At Ugly Bucket, we're passionate about sharing our unique approach and performance style with anyone willing to delve deeper into the method behind our madness.
From working with schools, the general public and professional performers, we are able to adapt our workshop for all ages and abilities. We pride ourselves on creating a safe space to explore, play, and gloriously fail.
If you are looking for a bespoke workshop based on a specific topic, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Scroll down to see the methods we cover, or see our workshop pack.
If you want to experience the most fun, loudest, maddest few hours, may I suggest going to an Ugly Bucket workshop? You'll be sweating Ugly Buckets! Totally worth it!

The clown is able to bring purity and stupidity to broach difficult conversations, breaking down barriers through laughter and creating togetherness. Participants can gain confidence in front of an audience, discover their clown, find joy in failure and nourish their ability to play.
Our clowning workshop consists of games and exercises that focuses on three clowning cores - comic relief, connection and challenge.
I had a fantastic day at the workshop, it really pushed me out of my comfort zone. So friendly, and warm. You have really lit a fire under my ass. I'm still buzzing!
Ugly Bucket shows are high-energy electric ensemble experiences. With the use of music being an imperative part of our work it is important to show how we create movement and coexist alongside it in performance.
We will show how you can create a shared physical language, work as an ensemble and use your body to tell a story - looking at intuitive expressive movement, gesture and character.
Expect sweat, laughter, and thumping tunes.
The best gift this award winning physical theatre company possess is a seeming electric current running through them.

Verbatim is a key feature of Ugly Bucket's work to date; Personal testimony can be a dynamic tool to tell honest stories and devise exciting, perspective changing productions.
Together we can focus on how we can care for communities we bring in to our work, and explore different forms to show these stories on stage.
Participants will devise with verbatim from previous Ugly Bucket productions, learning more about documentary style theatre as we create.
Really, this is an exercise in empathy. The empathy the cast afford to the people they interview, the empathy they afford to each other, and the empathy they afford to us – the audience.

It's not like anything I've done before. There wasn't much pressure and you could be as silly as you wanted. Even though it was challenging, everyone was working together and having a good time. There was no wrong way of doing things and as much as I was being over the top, I didn't feel embarrassed at all!
