A co-creation with Lowry CAT as part of their 2023 showcase.

Inspired by the story of Pandora’s Box, Ugly Bucket collaborated with The Lowry CAT to devise This Way Up - an engaging, expressive piece that boldly melds clown with dance. Ugly Bucket said -

It’s been a joy to guide this group of talented young dancers through an extraordinary journey learning the unique craft of clowning with us at Ugly Bucket. Throughout this process, they have courageously ventured outside their comfort zones, delving into the unknown to explore their inner clowns and push their boundaries as versatile performers. They’ve been challenge to look the audience right in the eye, and bring them into their world. Inspired by the story of Pandora, this journey was fuelled by curiosity and unearthing the shared threads that connect humanity. It’s tested them to embrace vulnerability, explore self-discovery, and to always break the rules.
